Franklin M. Chu M.D.  F.A.C.S.


 

Dr. Chu received his M.D. from Tulane University, New Orleans Louisiana.  He completed his Urology residency from UC Irvine.  He is the founding member of San Bernardino Urological Associates Medical Group in 1985.  He has been a Board Certified Urologist since 1987 and has been recertified in 1995.  He was a clinical faulty of UC Irvine Urology Department from 1985-1991.  He has served as Chief of Surgery of both St. Bernardine Medical Center and Community Hospital of San Bernardino.  He is a Fellow of American College of Surgeons.  He is a member of the American Urological Association, California Urological Association and California Medical Association.  He also received a M.S. in Physical Chemistry from the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana.

Dr. Chu also serves as chairman of St. Bernardine Medical Center’s Institution Review Board, since 2000.  He is also active in all areas of urology research, serving as primary investigator or sub-investigators on over 40 industry and federally funded clinical studies.  He also serves as a national advisor for multiple national and international pharmaceutical companies.

 

Daniel J. Lama, M.D.


Dr. Lama graduated Summa Cum Laude from Manhattan College, where he received his Bachelors of Science degree in 1980.  There he was elected into Epsilon Sigma PI Honor Society and Phi Beta Kappa.  He received his M.D. from the State University of New York at Downstate in 1984.  He was elected into Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and graduated Magna Cum Laude.  He completed General Surgical internship and Urologic Residency at New York University.  He has been Board Certified since 1993 and re-certified in 2001.  He is a fellow of the International College of Surgeons.  He has served on numerous committees at both Community Hospital of San Bernardino and St. Bernardine Medical Center.  He has served as vice-chairman of Department of
Surgery at both area hospitals, and has served as Chairman of the Tissue Committee for three years.  He has served as consultant to several pharmaceutical companies and has been actively involved in clinical research since 1999.  He has been in practice in San Bernardino since 1990.

 


Sun I. Kim, M.D.


Dr. Kim is the newest member of our team.  He  received his M.D. from New York Medical College, Valhalla, New York. He completed his Residency at Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri and Internship at University of California Los Angeles, Los Angeles, California. He has been Board Certified since 2004.  He is a member of the American Urological Association.  He is currently on staff at both area hospitals, Community Hospital of San Bernardino and St. Bernardine Medical Center.  Special areas of interest include Laproscopic and Endoscopic Surgery, Oncology, and Female Urology.  He has published numerous articles, and is active in Clinical Research.  He has been in practice in San Bernardino since 2006.
